To accomplish carbon-neutrality, GreenShipping’s automated service calculates the carbon footprint of each UPS, FedEX and United States Postal Service shipment by examining the weight, distance traveled and mode of transportation. Then GreenShipping purchases on behalf of Ocean Futures Society an equal amount of offsets from the Bonneville Environmental Foundation (BEF). BEF was named by the EPA as a 2009 Green Power Supplier of the Year and funds development of wind energy projects.
