At the northern end of the Tuamotu Archipelago of French Polynesia lies Rangiroa atoll, a popular destination for divers due to its beautiful reefs, abundant fish and healthy shark populations. Jean-Michel Cousteau traveled with his team to document one of natures great wildlife gatherings at this far-flung island. They were reminded of the harshness of nature but left with the knowledge of a key principle that nothing in nature is wasted. To learn more about these reef sharks and other sharks around the world, watch Sharks at Risk, a one-hour program and part of the series Jean-Michel Cousteau Ocean Adventures.
