Explore the West Coast National Marine Sanctuaries with Jean-Michel Cousteau
SANTA BARBARA, CALIFORNIA.
Jean-Michel Cousteau’s Ocean Futures Society in partnership with Ocean Publishing is proud to announce the release of its second book in a four-book series, Explore National Marine Sanctuaries with Jean-Michel Cousteau, featuring five of fourteen National Marine Sanctuaries including the only Marine National Monument. The series is based on Ocean Futures Society’s award-winning, limited edition book America’s Underwater Treasures and the PBS film series Jean-Michel Cousteau: Ocean Adventures.

The newest book, Explore the West Coast National Marine Sanctuaries with Jean-Michel Cousteau, will take readers on a grand adventure through each of the five National Marine Sanctuaries along the west coast of the United States: Channel Islands, Monterey Bay, Gulf of the Farallones, Cordell Bank and Olympic Coast. Combining engaging text, stunning photography, and behind-the-scenes stories from the Ocean Futures Society expedition team, Explore the West Coast National Marine Sanctuaries with Jean-Michel Cousteau will provide an intelligent inquiry into the health of our oceans while introducing readers to these incredible underwater treasures found in these five National Marine Sanctuaries.
According to Cousteau, “My goal has always been to communicate the beauty of the ocean and the necessity of protecting it to the widest possible audience. By making the content of America’s Underwater Treasures, our original book on all the sanctuaries, now available in this four-part series, it enables us to reach both a wider and a more targeted audience of visitors and communities geographically located near specific sanctuaries. This series is intended not only to inspire, but to inform the general public on specific measures that are working to preserve our ocean resources. Ocean Publishing understands and supports our goals to communicate through quality images and information, and has partnered with us in this exciting series.”
The first book in the series, Explore the Southeast National Marine Sanctuaries with Jean-Michel Cousteau, features the Sanctuaries of the Florida Keys, Gray’s Reef, and Flower Garden Banks, and is also available at the Ocean Futures Society website and www.oceanpublishing.org.
